omnipresent marketing

Marketing

If you follow me on LinkedIn and Instagram, you know I often use the term “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.”

 I use this phrase because…

  • I believe an Omnipresent Marketing Strategy is necessary for businesses of every size.
  • I believe an Omnipresent Marketing Strategy is vital for keeping your pipeline full of the right leads.
  • I believe an Omnipresent Marketing Strategy prevents you from relying on ONE funnel to support your revenue goals.

Here’s why it’s dangerous to rely on ONE marketing channel/funnel.

80,000+ Followers GONE in the Blink of an Eye

Recently, a well-known and respected business owner in my industry had her Instagram account DELETED. Years of content and almost 90,000 followers GONE in the blink of an eye. Instagram reported that she was in violation of community guidelines and deleted her account. She contested it. They reviewed her appeal. Within a few hours they came back and reported that her account was permanently deleted with no hope of recovery.

Which means that the over $100k MONTHLY revenue, and approximately 150 new email subscribers/week, that she usually funnels from her IG account is no longer there.

And perhaps the saddest part…she was one of the good ones. She was one of the business growth strategists putting out REAL business growth strategies and advice. (Not get rich quick schemes)

Now she has to start over from SCRATCH. Lucky for her, IG is not her ONLY marketing channel. She is on Facebook, YouTube, has a top-rated podcast, and more. I hate that this happened to her, but I have no doubt she will come back fast and her IG content will be better than ever.  Her story has reinforced an important lesson: Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.

The Importance of an Omnipresent Marketing Strategy

An omnipresent marketing strategy matters because building a sizable audience online AND offline is no longer an option – it’s a NECESSITY. If your first instinct is to resist what I just said, get curious. Why are you resisting?

Because if you know WHO you serve, HOW you serve them, you BELIEVE your offer gets results, and you have systems in place…none of what I say should be hard to apply.

4 Pillars of a Strong Brand Presence with Omnipresent Marketing

1. Online Marketing

I recommend you market on a minimum of two social media channels. If you’re just starting out, or you’re a solopreneur, consider creating the same content for both channels and tweaking it slightly based on the typical norms for each platform. Work up to posting daily if possible. And every day, even if it’s just 15 minutes, do outbound engagement. Add new, targeted connections to your profiles. Spend time engaging with other people’s content. Build relationships in the DMs as often as possible. PLEASE don’t post and ghost. If you aren’t spending time doing the engagement strategies here then posting is a waste of your time.

2. Offline Marketing

Offline marketing, also known as networking, consists of joining strategic networking groups, setting up coffee chats or lunches, and focusing on anything that builds relationships and helps more people know who you are, who you help, and how you help them. In a post-pandemic era, people are craving in-person and authentic connections. Regularly build quality, strategic relationships offline.

3. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO used to be something I recommended for specific types of businesses, but I now believe it is important that every business has a SEO strategy as part of their overall Omnipresent Marketing Strategy. SEO helps you improve your website visibility in search engines, such as Google & Bing, so that you can increase the quality and quantity of traffic, as well as brand exposure. SEO is important because organic search results are more credible to searchers and receive more clicks than paid ads. Basic, on-page SEO is usually set up by the web developer you hire to build your website, but I recommend investing in an expert for regular SEO maintenance and strategy.

4. Public Relations

PR is the final component of a complete Omnipresent Marketing Strategy. There are six “buckets” in a complete PR strategy. They are podcast guesting, publications, television, awards, collaborations, and speaking engagements. I know. It’s a lot to consider. I recommend starting with one at a time, and starting with podcast guesting first. PR is important for building authority in your industry and it helps you build a bigger audience of the right people for your offer(s).
